Popular singer, Becca, was also at the Commission by virtue of her role as an Ambassador for Ghana\u2019s World Cup in Brazil. The former Sports Minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah commissioned some popular personalities to help promote Ghana\u2019s brand at the World Cup and Becca was invited to give testimony on her role in Brazil.<\/span><\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cDid you have any contracts with the Ministry?\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cNo, I did not please.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cYou just received a phone call?\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cWe had a couple of meetings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cAside that, did you sign any contracts with the Minisry?\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cI did not sign any contracts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cAn icon we all know and you perform a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cYes, I do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cBefore any performance, don\u2019t you sign any documents?\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cWe do sign documents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201d Did you sign anything this time?\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0I did not sign any contracts and there is a very good explanation for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cWhat is the explanation?<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201d We did not see most of the people who we were to work with when we got to Brazil. And other reason why I performed was not to disappoint the fans there. I had gone there for a reason and I wanted to fulfill the task.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe<\/em>: \u201cIn the course of performing, anything could happen. Assuming something had happened, who were you going to hold responsible?\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cWell, I guess I was too much into making sure I did not disappoint in terms of the performances and also playing my role as an Ambassador and showcasing Ghana to the world at large.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cHow much were you paid in terms of per diem?\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201d We were paid two hundred and fifty dollars per day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cWhat other monies were you paid?\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cNothing at all, my Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cYou were not paid for the performance?\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cNothing at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cAt least, you sold myself to the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Becca:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cI sold myself to the world but I also went to promote Ghana\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Dzamefe:<\/em>\u00a0\u201cThat\u2019s what I\u2019m saying.\u201d<\/p>\n
