{"id":52417,"date":"2014-09-30T13:19:27","date_gmt":"2014-09-30T13:19:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=52417"},"modified":"2014-09-30T14:03:49","modified_gmt":"2014-09-30T14:03:49","slug":"sack-members-who-sued-npp-constituency-chairman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=52417","title":{"rendered":"Sack members who sued NPP \u2013 Constituency Chairman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for Walewale, Simon Ali is calling on the party\u2019s leadership to sack two of its members who are seeking a court injunction on the upcoming congress in October 18.<\/p>\n<p>The two, Rexford Agyei Frimpong and Oppong Kyekyeku filed a suit at the Accra Fast Track High Court seeking an interlocutory injunction on the party\u2019s October 18 congress.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;wCZl6rrJzV6x0DJzQAGElqeEHe78FF1r&#8221;]However, speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, Simon Walewale said the two failed to use internal procedures to address their issues, hence his call.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir decision results in unnecessary tension \u2026so I am calling on the National Executive Committee(NEC) to sack members who violate the party\u2019s procedures in resolving their grievances,&#8221; he insisted.<\/p>\n<p>The court application follows calls from flagbearer aspirants, Alan Kyerematen and Addai Nimoh that the party\u2019s leadership to reconsider the date for the congress.<\/p>\n<p>The two said the October 18 date\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/16\/we-cant-campaign-in-48-days-alan-nimoh\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><b>will not give them ample time to reach the over 140,000 delegates<\/b><\/span><\/a><\/span>\u00a0across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Akufo-Addo\u2019s camp in response to the call <a style=\"text-decoration:none; color: #333;\" href=\"http:\/\/vhealthportal.com\/product\/lamisil\/\">http:\/\/vhealthportal.com\/product\/lamisil\/<\/a> said that they don\u2019t agree with the arguments from the two candidates because according to them, the situation is like a \u201c90 minutes football game, we all have the same time to compete and win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The last time the two were in court, counsel for the plaintiffs pleaded for more time to study the party&#8217;s response to their suit.<\/p>\n<p>The Court has set <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/26\/npp-congress-court-sets-oct-3-for-ruling\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><b>October 3, to rule on the application.<\/b><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In a related development, a former constituency chair of the party,\u00a0David Hoezame, has been ordered by an Accra Fast Track High Court to use the grievance channels within the party to resolve issues for which he dragged the party to court.<\/p>\n<p>Hoezame was challenging the status of the national council of the party.<\/p>\n<p>In his suit, he said the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/06\/19\/former-npp-chairman-sues-party\/\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">current national executives had breached the NPP constitution<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0by purporting to call for and take part in the deliberations of the National Council without reconstituting it after they were elected into office in April 2014.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for Walewale, Simon Ali is calling on the party\u2019s leadership to sack two of its members who are seeking a court injunction on the upcoming congress in October 18.
