{"id":52090,"date":"2014-09-29T13:44:20","date_gmt":"2014-09-29T13:44:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=52090"},"modified":"2014-09-29T14:03:53","modified_gmt":"2014-09-29T14:03:53","slug":"aflao-chieftaincy-dispute-police-intensify-security","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=52090","title":{"rendered":"Aflao chieftaincy dispute : Police intensify security"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Police in Ho in the Volta Region have intensified security following a violent protest by the youth in the region.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;qIPN0Uz5DpbYOreyMjfTFQq5qO10HOYh&#8221;]The protest was against \u00a0the\u00a0arrival of the supposed new paramount chief of Aflao Traditional Area, Togbui Afla<\/p>\n<p>The Police warned the Torgbui Detu against entering the town after security intelligence revealed his actions could <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/24\/tension-brews-in-aflao-over-new-chief\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>spark violence<\/strong><\/span><\/a> but he defied the order and entered the town without permission.<\/p>\n<p>He was however <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/26\/aflao-chief-arrested-for-defying-police-order\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>arrested<\/strong> <\/span><\/a><\/span>together with five other people upon his arrival in the town.<\/p>\n<p>Torgbui Detu is currently in police custody and is expected to reappear before a High Court in Ho tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the regional police commander, DCOP Peterking Gyenae said the security forces won\u2019t be withdrawn until the court determines the fate of Togbui Detu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUntil we appear before Court tomorrow and settle the case, we don\u2019t withdraw the security agencies, \u201dhe insisted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Police in Ho in the Volta Region have intensified security following a violent protest by the youth in the region.
