{"id":51671,"date":"2014-09-27T18:23:57","date_gmt":"2014-09-27T18:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=51671"},"modified":"2014-09-27T18:57:56","modified_gmt":"2014-09-27T18:57:56","slug":"amoateng-receives-rousing-welcome-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=51671","title":{"rendered":"Amoateng receives rousing welcome home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The people of both\u00a0Nkoranza North and South in the Brong Ahafo Region thronged the Nkoranza township to give\u00a0embattled former Member of Parliament Eric Amoateng a rousing welcome on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The former MP for Nkoranza North,\u00a0expressed gratitude to the Chiefs and people of Nkoranza for the massive support they gave him when he was incarcerated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;G6Y0QhEBlRK8fGcYXZPZXUPCP5dZDd3x&#8221;]Mr Amoateng\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/08\/22\/officer-not-involved-in-amoatengs-passport-saga-lawyer\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">was earlier arrested in Ghana<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0upon his arrival from the US where he served a ten year jail term for illegal drug trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>He was subsequently arrested by the Ghana Police at the Kotoka Airport\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/08\/22\/officer-not-involved-in-amoatengs-passport-saga-lawyer\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">for allegedly possessing a fake passport<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>After various investigations, the police granted him bail of GHC200, 000 with three sureties\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/08\/13\/amoateng-still-in-custody-5-days-after-being-granted-bail\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\">which he failed to meet<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>until now.<\/p>\n<p><b>Citi News<\/b>\u00a0Brong Ahafo regional correspondent Kwadwo Brefo reported that\u00a0\u201cin a joyous atmosphere, the people of Nkoranza North and South trouped to Nkoranza to meet him upon arrival at the town after he visited his wife at Bonsu.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr Amoateng expressed his appreciation to the people after paying a courtesy call on the Chief of Nkoranza, Okatakyie Agyeman Kudom IV, after he was released from police custody.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kwadwo Brefo added that from there,\u00a0Mr Amoateng headed to the municipal capital to meet his people and also pay a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the town where he thanked him and his people for their prayers and support.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Godwin Allotey Akweiteh\/citifmonoline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The people of both\u00a0Nkoranza North and South in the Brong Ahafo Region thronged the Nkoranza township to give\u00a0embattled former Member of Parliament Eric Amoateng a rousing welcome on Saturday.
