The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has released the load shedding time table\u00a0to assist the general public to plan their daily activities accordingly.<\/p>\n
The ECG earlier postponed indefinitely<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, the release of the time table stating that further consultation had to be done with stakeholders for a reliable schedule to be drafted.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”A7wCXLElcXF0VFhNcPhEb7UNQtnCDfLE”]The situation was prompted by labour unrest in Nigeria<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>which halted the supply of natural gas to Ghana through the West African Gas Pipeline.<\/p>\n The supply of the product however, resumed on Saturday<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>after the oil workers in Nigeria called off their strike on Friday.<\/p>\n But the nation\u2019s power producers and distributors are still struggling to meet the generation targets needed for industries, businesses and homes to run.<\/p>\n Analysts in the industry say the improved situation in Nigeria is not a guarantee<\/strong><\/span><\/a> there will be enough power for the country.<\/p>\n The\u00a0Volta River Authority<\/strong><\/span><\/a> is also scheduled to cut back on power generation from October due to the low water levels flowing into the Akosombo dam.<\/p>\n Also, the Asogli thermal plant has been shut down while the T3 and T2 thermal plants<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>are also out of operation.<\/p>\n These have all contributed to the ongoing power rationing.<\/p>\n Click on the attached file below to check out the time table\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n ECG’s load shedding timetable<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n By: Efua Idan Osam\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana
