{"id":46371,"date":"2014-09-10T13:45:18","date_gmt":"2014-09-10T13:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=46371"},"modified":"2014-09-10T16:14:16","modified_gmt":"2014-09-10T16:14:16","slug":"ges-sacks-all-pupil-teachers-in-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=46371","title":{"rendered":"GES sacks all Pupil teachers in Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Education Service (GES) has terminated the appointment of all pupil teachers across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The action according to the GES was taken because the affected teachers have failed to upgrade themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The acting Director General of the GES, Charles Aheto Tsegah who confirmed the decision to<strong> Citi News<\/strong> disclosed that the dismissed pupil teachers will be replaced by trained teachers.<\/p>\n<p>The GES boss also insisted that the decision has nothing to do with a planned job retrenchment exercise by government.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cEven if government is doing retrenchment\u2026it is doing it in a manner that is to ensure some sanity, it deals with those people who are on contract.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;oeQLH8s7OtxMLTm9FJ6CaAvmj3CHskIM&#8221;]According to him, people employed by government on a contract basis do not qualify to be called \u201ca government worker.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aheto Tsegah was dismayed that Ghanaians are criticizing the government for the directive saying, \u201cyou have been given a duration for which you are engaged, the time is up, we say go and then it is becoming a national furore.
