{"id":45209,"date":"2014-09-05T19:45:26","date_gmt":"2014-09-05T19:45:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=45209"},"modified":"2014-09-06T10:39:38","modified_gmt":"2014-09-06T10:39:38","slug":"ghana-vs-uganda-no-longer-free","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=45209","title":{"rendered":"Ghana vs Uganda no longer free"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Youth and Sports has backtracked on its earlier decision to allow fans to watch the African Cup of Nations qualifier between Ghana and Uganda at the Baba Yara Stadium on Saturday, <a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2014\/09\/05\/free-gates-for-ghana-vs-uganda-match\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>free of charge<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources at the Sports Ministry, this decision is due to some security concerns which were raised by the National Security officials.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports announced on Friday afternoon that Saturday\u2019s game was going to be free for fans, due to the extremely poor ticket sales prior to the game.<\/p>\n<p>The move according to some officials, was also to <a href=\"http:\/\/sport.citifmonline.com\/2014\/09\/04\/quao-operation-win-back-the-love-the-black-stars-mission\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>&#8220;win back the love of the supporters&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/a> who had shown clear anger at the Black Stars during their training sessions, following their abysmal performance at the world cup.<\/p>\n<p>Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan at some point had to step in to apologize to the fans.<\/p>\n<p>However, this decision has been reversed after a crunch meeting between National Security officials, the Minister of Youth and Sports and officials at the National Sports Authority.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>OFFICIAL U-TURN: Gates will NOT be free for Ghana v Uganda.
