The 2012 Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has won the Northern Region’s super delegates congress.<\/p>\n
He polled 62 out of the 71 total votes cast representing 88.5% to beat his archrival Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanteng who secured only 4 votes.<\/p>\n
Shockingly, Francis Adai Nimoh had 2, Hon. Joe Ghartey 2 votes whilst Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, Stephen Asamoah Boateng and Kofi Osei Ameyaw had 0 respectively.<\/p>\n
The Electoral Commission has officially declared Nana Akufo Addo winner of the Northern Polls.<\/p>\n
But majority of the delegates and some party supporters were unhappy about the results saying, “We expected 100% for Nana Addo because he has decided to maintain our own brother Dr. Bawumia as his trusted running mate for 2016.”<\/p>\n
Apart from the isolated case of the confusion which arose as a result of one of the delegates displaying his ballot paper after casting his vote, the exercise was devoid of skirmishes.<\/p>\n
About 100 police personnel led by the regional Commander DCOP Ken Yeboah in collaboration with the millitary manned the exercise.<\/p>\n
Nana akufo Addo’s supporters poured on the streets of Tamale chanting their popular slogan, “No Nana no vote.”<\/p>\n
