The Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams says the Ghanaian economy is doing well despite the numerous economic challenges.<\/p>\n
The nation’s economy has been hit with a number of challengings including a rising deficit and a continous depreciation of the Cedi and rising cost of living.<\/p>\n
The situation has forced government to seek a financil bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to stabilize the\u00a0 economy.<\/p>\n
However, in an interview on Citi FM\u2019s Point Blank, <\/b>Kofi Adams insists the economy is doing well and added that, the government is laying a solid foundation in building the economy which will benefit Ghanaians in the long-run.<\/p>\n
\u201c…Come down to Ghana and see the level of growth and development…if you invest in a gas project of almost $850 million, that gas project will not finish in two years, it will take time for you to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
He cited the \u00a0shoe and \u00a0sugar factory as examples to buttress his argument and maintained it was going to take time for the \u00a0government to achieve results.<\/p>\n
Reacting to alleged cases of corruption within government,Kofi Adams explained that; \u201cCorruption is something that nobody is happy about, so we are not celebrating corruption, that is why President Mahama explained corruption as mass murder.”<\/p>\n
“Because if you engage in any act of corruption, you are taking away resources for the people just for your own selfish good”, he noted<\/p>\n
He \u00a0concluded by urging members of the NDC to vote for him at the party’s upcoming congress stating that he was the right man for the job.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe we have reached a point where we have to change the dynamics of the party….We are in a different situation and I believe i am the best man for the job at this moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
