Opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth in the Northern Region will on Saturday August 30, 2014 hit the streets of Tamale.<\/p>\n
This is intended to implore all northern delegates to by popular acclamation endorse Nana Akufo Addo\u2019s candidature at the forthcoming super national delegates congress slated for Sunday August 31, 2014.<\/p>\n
Chairmen of the party\u2019s countless youth groups in the region unanimously endorsed this decision at Oscar\u2019s base where some NPP youth were shot on the eve of the party\u2019s national delegates congress held in Tamale.<\/p>\n
They repetitively sang with one voice saying, \u201cNo Nana, no vote, Nana is our Redeemer.\u201d<\/p>\n
They pleaded with all delegates from the 31 constituencies in the region to give Nana Addo one touch victory.<\/p>\n
They vowed to engage the services of a soothsayer after the super delegates\u2019 congress to uncover any delegates who might act contrary to their plea.<\/p>\n
According to them, the party risks losing the 2016 general elections without Nana Addo as the Presidential candidate.<\/p>\n
They described Nana Addo as a man who has vision for the Ghanaian youth and used the NPP\u2019s 2012 flagship free SHS concept to justify their standpoint.<\/p>\n
They maintained that Nana Addo should be given the third chance to lead the party to victory in 2016.<\/p>\n
Convener of the meeting who doubles as the NPP Northern Regional Youth Organizer, Alhaji Rashid Salifu COP said the intended procession was justifiable.<\/p>\n
He acknowledged Nana Addo\u2019s worry about the jail sentences five youth activists of the NPP from Tamale are serving in various prisons.<\/p>\n
He banked their hope on Nana Addo to restore their dignity when elected President.<\/p>\n
Alhaji Rashid COP described the upcoming super national delegates\u2019 congress as a litmus test to deepen the party\u2019s internal democracy.<\/p>\n
The procession is expected to start at Zogbeli near the Tamale West Hospital, through Sabonjida, downwards the Sakasaka road to Choggu and will be climaxed with a mini rally at the starting point.<\/p>\n
