The Health Ministry says all West African delegates expected in Ghana for the Health Ministers\u2019 conference on Ebola would be screened.<\/p>\n
Chairman of ECOWAS, President John Mahama would host the delegates to among other things beef up strategies to contain the deadly disease which has already claimed over one thousand lives in the West African sub-region.<\/p>\n
Ghana\u2019s Health Ministry says the country is ready to host its West African counterparts on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Citi News<\/b>, the Head of Public Relations Unit at the Ministry of Health, Dan Osman said the delegates will be screened to prevent a possible outbreak in Ghana.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can\u2019t say because they are Ministers of Health we will just allow them to enter the country since we have not had any reported case of Ebola. We have to make sure we screen all of them. We visited the Airport to be sure they have all the gadgets, what we call the personal protective gear, then the thermometer to test temperatures. They will be at the VIP lounge to screen all the Ministers and maybe other persons accompanying them,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
He further stated that \u201cthose who might come by road from Togo, Nigeria and Benin, would as well be screened at the Aflao border\u201d adding that health officials will also be deployed at the venue of the meeting to \u201ckeep their eyes on delegates.\u201d<\/p>\n
