A former National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Karbo says Dr. Kobina Arthur Kennedy\u2019s behaviour towards party matters can be likened to that of a \u2018NUGS [National Union of Ghana Students] president\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis behaviour and reactions to matters within the party is as though he is still the National NUGS President which he was sometime in the 80s,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
This follows a statement issued by Dr. Arthur Kennedy on Thursday accusing presidential candidate hopeful of the party, Nana Akufo-Addo of being responsible for the Tuesday\u2019s violence at the party\u2019s headquarters.<\/p>\n
Some angry youth besieged the premises with guns and machetes threatening the lives of some party executives for the dismissal of the acting communications director, Perry Okudzeto.<\/p>\n
Nana Addo has however denied the allegations describing them as \u201cirresponsible and unfounded.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Eyewitness News, Karbo said despite the \u201cmalicious, opportunistic allegations\u201d, Ghanaians are aware Nana Addo will never be responsible for such a criminal act.<\/p>\n
He described Dr. Arthur Kennedy\u2019s statement as \u201cmost unfortunate\u201d adding that it one would have expected that he [Arthur Kennedy] would have been in Ghana to support the party as it goes through \u201cdifficult and trying times.\u201d<\/p>\n
Karbo noted that the youth in the NPP are \u201cutterly disgusted\u201d at the increasing blame game in the media by some leaders of the party.<\/p>\n
According to him, Arthur Kennedy\u2019s statement is causing the party to \u201creel in pain\u201d while he is \u201ccooling off somewhere in the United States of America.\u201d<\/p>\n
The former youth leader dismissed claims by the NPP chairman, Paul Afoko that Tuesday\u2019s violence was orchestrated by political opponents.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese are party people who acted in a way that must be condemned because it is shameful; it is unacceptable for a civilized political party like the NPP.\u201d<\/p>\n
He admonished the elders of the party to condemn the act and take responsibility and apologize to the entire nation.<\/p>\n
