Pressure is been mounted on President John Dramani Mahama to appoint a substantive Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Tamale Teaching Hospital.<\/p>\n
The former CEO, Dr. Ken Sagoe went on retirement about a year ago leaving the Tamale Teaching Hospital without a substantive CEO.<\/p>\n
As a major referral health facility serving the three regions of the north, the hospital is now being managed by Dr. Prosper Akambong as Acting CEO.<\/p>\n
It is against this backdrop several concerned groups including the Changli Youth Parliament of the NDC in Tamale are demanding the immediate appoint of a substantive CEO for the hospital.<\/p>\n
According to the group\u2019s Secretary, Alhassan Abdul-Barik at a news conference, the hospital is deficient of managerial proficiency.<\/p>\n
He accused the hospital caretaker Board of manipulating the appointment of a substantive CEO to favour their preferred choice among the competitors.<\/p>\n
He called for an immediate dissolution and the need to reconstitute the Board.<\/p>\n
Alhassan Abdul Barik insinuated that the hospital was highly indebted for which reason suppliers have blacklisted the management.<\/p>\n
