{"id":396241,"date":"2018-01-29T14:07:45","date_gmt":"2018-01-29T14:07:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=396241"},"modified":"2018-01-30T06:03:50","modified_gmt":"2018-01-30T06:03:50","slug":"mondays-dumsor-caused-by-transmission-disturbance-gridco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=396241","title":{"rendered":"Monday&#8217;s \u2018dumsor\u2019 caused by transmission disturbance  &#8211; GRIDCo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has attributed the power outages that hit parts of the country early Monday morning to &#8220;a disturbance on its transmission network.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A number of areas, especially within the capital city Accra, suffered a blackout in the early hours of Monday, January 29, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>GRIDCo clarified that\u00a0the blackout was caused by an interference in their transmission network after many affected Ghanaians complained to <strong>Citi News <\/strong>over the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGhana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) wishes to inform the general public of a disturbance on its transmission network resulting in the loss of electricity supply to consumers in some parts of the country,\u201d GRIDCo stated in a statement signed by its head of Public Relations, Albert Kwesi Quainoo.<\/p>\n<p>The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) had earlier denied responsibility for the outages blaming it entirely on GRIDCo.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Public Relations Officer of ECG, William Boateng said: \u201cThe problem is not from ECG, it\u2019s from our transmission company in Ghana here, GRIDCo.
