Officials of Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority [GRA], at Dabala Check Point in the Volta Region,\u00a0 on Sunday arrested a 34-year-old nursing mother for possessing compressed parcels of a substance suspected to be Indian hemp.<\/p>\n

The suspect, Bertha Weto, was said to have concealed the 44 compressed parcels in a lady\u2019s bag and was travelling on an Accra-bound Hyundai H200 commercial minibus from Akatsi, with registration number GS4710-13.<\/p>\n

Luck, however, eluded her when officials after thorough inspections discovered the parcels in her possession.<\/p>\n

Narrating the incident to Citi News<\/strong>, the Assistant Commissioner in Charge of Aflao Sector, Frank Ashong, said the gross weight of the substance is about 34.83kg.<\/p>\n

He said they have since been handed to the head of the Narcotic Control Board [NACOB] unit in Aflao for further examinations.<\/p>\n

The suspect has also been handed over to the Aflao Police for investigations.<\/p>\n
