But only five hundred are expected to be selected to join the Service nationwide, according to the Immigration Service.<\/p>\n<p>Ghana&#8217;s youth unemployment has reached alarming levels as thousands of graduates pass out from the universities each year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-388582\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Immigration-recruitment-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Immigration-recruitment-3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Immigration-recruitment-3-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi News<\/strong>\u2019 Felicia Osei reports that the applicants, made up of mostly unemployed youth are being taken through various stages including screening, body and height check.<\/p>\n<p>The huge number of applicants has caused severe vehicular traffic as job seekers queue from the gates to gain entry into the stadium.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Immigration Service on Wednesday cautioned the public to be wary of fraudsters parading themselves as officials of the Service in the ongoing recruitment exercise.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-388569\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Immigration-recruitment-24.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Immigration-recruitment-24.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Immigration-recruitment-24-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Service said the deadline for the\u00a0submission of applications online for recruitment has passed.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of Public Affairs at the Immigration Service, Superintendent Michael Amoako-Attah, said some people are trying to take advantage of the ongoing process in order to defraud unsuspecting applicants.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the Service is no longer accepting applications, hence persons who attempt to sell application vouchers should be reported to the law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n<p>The Immigration Service\u2019s decision to automate the recruitment process was anchored on the relative success of the process used in recent police and fire service recruitment exercises.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_388568\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-388568\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-388568 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Immigration-recruitment-23.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Immigration-recruitment-23.jpg 600w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Immigration-recruitment-23-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-388568\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Head of Public Affairs at the Immigration Service, Superintendent Michael Amoako-Attah<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The use of the online portals and\u00a0e-vouchers was to make the process more transparent and discourage the payment of bribes and the use of middlemen who defraud potential recruits.<\/p>\n<p>And according to\u00a0Superintendent Amoako-Attah, the process has been very secure, with applicants given unique numbers by which they could be tracked and communicated with.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor those who are qualified, we have their numbers. We have a unique ID number for each qualified applicant.
