Bismark Agyapong, was part of a group who at dawn of\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1496870121\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Sunday,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0lurked in the bush to attack unsuspecting commuters. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He said the Police upon a tip-off, pursued them, with one of them, Eji Ogu Chijioke arrested, whilst the others fled into the bush.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-382277\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Akatsi-Armed-robbery-3-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Akatsi-Armed-robbery-3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Akatsi-Armed-robbery-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Akatsi-Armed-robbery-3-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Akatsi-Armed-robbery-3.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Few moments after the first encounter when the officers had recoiled, the \u201cunsuccessful\u201d robbers returned to the scene to apparently meet their ultimate goal for the dawn. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Unfortunately, lack eluded them and they encountered a Police Patrol Team.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The robbers after sensing danger, engaged the Police in a fierce gun battle. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Police also returned fire, leading to the death of one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-382278\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Akatsi-Armed-robbery-1-576x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Akatsi-Armed-robbery-1-576x1024.jpg 576w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Akatsi-Armed-robbery-1-169x300.jpg 169w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Akatsi-Armed-robbery-1.jpg 607w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Some items found on them during the operation included empty shells of AK47 ammunition, a wood designed in a form of AK4, and\u00a0a black sack designed like a Police Reflector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Supt. Bismarck Agyapong told <strong>Citi News<\/strong> that preliminary investigations were conducted, and it was revealed that, the suspects numbering four, were made up of three Nigerians and a Ghanaian residing in Aflao and only moved to the Akatsi Road to rob commuters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He said a man-hunt has since been launched to apprehend the remaining two who are at large.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He also urged the\u00a0public to volunteer information to help the police arrest the suspects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of St Paul\u2019s Hospital in Akatsi.
