History will remember Comrade Mugabe kindly &#8211;\u00a0 John Mahama posted.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FJDMahama%2Fposts%2F1819196751424806&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"415\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nMr. Mugabe had previously refused to resign despite last week\u2019s military takeover and days of protests against him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beginning of Mugabe\u2019s woes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What triggered the moves to oust Mugabe was his dismissal of Emmerson Mnangagwa as vice-president two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>That decision was seen by many as clearing the way for Mr. Mugabe\u2019s wife, Grace, to succeed her husband as leader.<\/p>\n<p>It riled the military leadership, who stepped in and put Mr. Mugabe under house arrest.
