{"id":36079,"date":"2014-07-31T14:03:54","date_gmt":"2014-07-31T14:03:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=36079"},"modified":"2014-07-31T14:03:54","modified_gmt":"2014-07-31T14:03:54","slug":"ayariga-fortifies-his-office-against-evil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=36079","title":{"rendered":"Ayariga fortifies his office against evil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The frequency with\u00a0which Ministers of Youth and\u00a0Sports are being replaced has\u00a0stirred newly-appointed\u00a0Mahama Ayariga to seek\u00a0divine intervention.<\/p>\n<p>A source at the ministry\u00a0revealed that the minister, a few\u00a0days after taking over from his\u00a0predecessor Elvis Afriyie-\u00a0Ankrah, took top-notch Islamic\u00a0clerics to his office to fortify the\u00a0place.<\/p>\n<p>The move, according to the\u00a0source, was to seek divine help\u00a0against evil machinations so\u00a0that what befell his predecessors\u00a0would not happen to him.<\/p>\n<p>It is the most talked about\u00a0Ministry, and has seen Ministers\u00a0come and go through the revolving door.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the past Ministers\u00a0even lasted only 30 days in\u00a0office after appointment, an\u00a0indication of how hot the seat\u00a0is.<\/p>\n<p>The immediate-past Minister\u00a0Afriyie-Ankrah lost his position\u00a0while on international\u00a0assignment in faraway Brazil\u00a0during the 2014 World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>One young Minister who\u00a0showed promise but didn\u2019t last\u00a0long on the hot seat was\u00a0Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka.\u00a0What led to his departure,\u00a0stoking controversy, is still fresh\u00a0in the minds of Ghanaians.<\/p>\n<p>Mallam Issah, who served\u00a0under the Kufuor administration,\u00a0is in the Ministry\u2019s history\u00a0books as the shortest-serving\u00a0Minister.<\/p>\n<p>But one name stands tall\u00a0among the 22 Ministers that\u00a0served at the ministry is Enoch\u00a0Teye Mensah, for his long reign\u00a0(1993-2001), although he did\u00a0not qualify the country to the\u00a0World stage \u2013 a feat Yaw Osafo\u00a0Marfo could boast of as the first\u00a0Minister to have achieved.<\/p>\n<p>Later, Akua Sena Dansua\u00a0and Afriyie-Ankrah replicated\u00a0the feat in the 2010 and 2014\u00a0World Cups respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Hon Ayariga assumed\u00a0office not long ago but he has\u00a0also demonstrated promise to\u00a0succeed at the Ministry which\u00a0has become a banana peel for\u00a0most government officials.<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks into his reign,\u00a0he called for a 60-man football\u00a0retreat, inspected projects and\u00a0sports facilities, all in pursuance\u00a0of a successful reign.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Daily Guide<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The frequency with\u00a0which Ministers of Youth and\u00a0Sports are being replaced has\u00a0stirred newly-appointed\u00a0Mahama Ayariga to seek\u00a0divine intervention.
