{"id":36068,"date":"2014-07-31T15:21:16","date_gmt":"2014-07-31T15:21:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=36068"},"modified":"2014-07-31T16:49:17","modified_gmt":"2014-07-31T16:49:17","slug":"cwg2014-update-team-ghana-ends-table-tennis-run-with-losses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=36068","title":{"rendered":"CWG2014 update: Team Ghana ends table tennis run with losses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ghana&#8217;s campaign in the table tennis events ended in failure as the team lost all its matches in both the singles and doubles events.<\/p>\n<p>Ghana&#8217;s women doubles team lost to Jamaica in the first round of event by three matches to one at the Scotstoun Table Tennis Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Celia Baah-Danso and Cynthia Kwabi could not get past Shenique Clare and Yvonne Foster but the other female team of Mareen Adom Amankwa and Bernice Borquaye did better in beating Uganda&#8217;s Amina Luukaya and Ludia Natunga.<\/p>\n<p>They, however, fell at the second hurdle to Singapore&#8217;s Ye Lin and Yihan Zhou by three games to zero.<\/p>\n<p>In the Men&#8217;s Singles first round event, Derek Abrefa lost to Philip Xiao of New Zealand by four matches to two.<\/p>\n<p>Felix Lartey was equally unsuccessful in his first round match \u00a0as he lost to Malaysia&#8217;s Chee Feng Leong by four matches to one.<\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel Commey did not also do well after he lost to Tengteng Liu of New Zealand by four games to zero.<\/p>\n<p>That was the last match in Team Ghana&#8217;s table tennis campaign in the Commonwealth Games.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Nathan Quao\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ghana&#8217;s campaign in the table tennis events ended in failure as the team lost all its matches in both the singles and doubles events.
