{"id":354607,"date":"2017-09-19T07:39:08","date_gmt":"2017-09-19T07:39:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=354607"},"modified":"2017-11-10T11:18:55","modified_gmt":"2017-11-10T11:18:55","slug":"frenchman-ordered-to-pay-wife-damages-for-lack-of-sex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=354607","title":{"rendered":"Frenchman ordered to pay wife damages for lack of sex"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"story\">\n<div id=\"mainBodyArea\">\n<div class=\"firstPar\">\n<p>A Frenchman has been ordered to pay his ex wife \u00a38, 500 in damages for failing to have enough sex with her during their marriage.<\/p>\n<p>The 51-year-old man was fined under article 215 of\u00a0France\u2019s civil code, which states married couples must agree to a \u201cshared communal life\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"secondPar\">\n<p>A judge has now ruled that this law implies that \u201csexual relations must form part of a marriage\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"thirdPar\">\n<p>The rare legal decision came after the wife filed for divorce two years ago, blaming the break-up on her husband\u2019s lack of activity in the bedroom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fourthPar\">\n<p>A judge in Nice, southern\u00a0France, then granted the divorce and ruled the husband named only as Jean-Louis B. was solely responsible for the split.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fifthPar\">\n<p>But the 47-year-old ex-wife then took him back to court demanding 10,000 euros in compensation for \u201clack of sex over 21 years of marriage\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"body\">\n<p>The ex-husband claimed \u201ctiredness and health problems\u201d had prevented him from being more attentive between the sheets.<\/p>\n<p>But a judge in the south of\u00a0France\u2019s highest court in Aix-en-Provence ruled: \u201cA sexual relationship between husband and wife is the expression of affection they have for each other, and in this case it was absent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy getting married, couples agree to sharing their life and this clearly implies they will have sex with each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cl\">\u00a0&#8211;<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"cl\">Source: Telegraph<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"isaSeason\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Frenchman has been ordered to pay his ex wife \u00a38, 500 in damages for failing to have enough sex with her during their marriage.
