{"id":349316,"date":"2017-08-30T16:30:51","date_gmt":"2017-08-30T16:30:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=349316"},"modified":"2017-11-10T12:35:51","modified_gmt":"2017-11-10T12:35:51","slug":"im-happy-with-cid-probe-a-plus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=349316","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m happy with CID probe &#8211; A-Plus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as Kwame A-Plus, has welcomed the Criminal Investigations Department&#8217;s (CID) investigation into his corruption claims against two\u00a0presidential staffers.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, A-Plus said the CID invitation to him was only\u00a0in fulfillment of President Nana Akufo-Addo\u2019s directive to security agencies to investigate any corruption allegation against\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/08\/26\/i-wont-spare-corrupt-npp-officials-akufo-addo\/\">his officials<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;5KBTWgsmzB7BGz7eJoK1mZXcYu1cNwPs&#8221;]\u201c\u2026It is the same promise that the President made that he will investigate any allegation. So he has lived by the promise that he made. If I am alleging then he is asking that it be investigated and I think that it is in the right direction. I am very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The CID invitation also\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/08\/30\/cid-invites-kennedy-agyapong-a-plus-over-corruption-claims\/\">extended to<\/a><\/strong><\/span> the NPP Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, who had also made similar corruption allegations, and backed claims.<\/p>\n<p>The accusations came when A-Plus took to Facebook to accuse President Akufo-Addo\u2019s two Deputy\u00a0Chiefs of Staff, Francis Asenso-Boakye, and Abu Jinapor of being corrupt.<\/p>\n<p>In a rant, that he has since <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/08\/30\/my-approach-was-wrong-a-plus-apologizes-for-facebook-rant\/\">apologised to the President for<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, he\u00a0described the two Deputy\u00a0Chiefs of Staff as thieves and called them stupid, without backing his claims with evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Francis Asenso-Boakye subsequently\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/08\/27\/a-plus-corruption-claims-baseless-deputy-chief-of-staff\/\">rejected<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 the unsubstantiated corruption claims made against him and Abu Jinapor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gov&#8217;t not chasing me<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A-Plus noted further that, this invitation was not some sort of witch-hunt against him by the government because of his allegations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don\u2019t want people to create the impression that the NPP government is chasing people who are coming out with allegations. Anybody who has any allegation of corruption should come out with it. The President will investigate it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the corruption claims against the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff, A-Plus said he was \u201cnot going to put out anything yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think any discussion with the police will be shelved or will be secret.
