{"id":34206,"date":"2014-07-24T11:30:50","date_gmt":"2014-07-24T11:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=34206"},"modified":"2014-07-24T11:32:07","modified_gmt":"2014-07-24T11:32:07","slug":"gfa-name-kotoko-champion-of-champions-of-1314-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=34206","title":{"rendered":"GFA name Kotoko &#8220;champion of champions&#8221; of 13\/14 season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has declared Kumasi Asante Kotoko &#8220;champion of champions&#8221; for the 2013\/2014 season.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on its official website, the GFA said that its Emergency Commitee had, quoting &#8220;article 10(2) of the General Regulations to back its decision,&#8221; branded the Kumasi-based club the ultimate champions for the season.<\/p>\n<p>The winners of the Premier league traditionally face the winners of the FA Cup in a Super Cup match.<\/p>\n<p>However, with Kotoko winning both competitions last season, the GFA has decided to name them &#8220;automatic champions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Article 10 (2) of the general Regulations state that the Ghana Football Association &#8220;may, however also, organize a ceremonial match between the club and either the runners up in the league or FA Cup for the purpose of awarding the trophy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The GFA has not, as yet, set a date for the match to officially award Kumasi Asante Kotoko the trophy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Edwin Kwakofi\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has declared Kumasi Asante Kotoko &#8220;champion of champions&#8221; for the 2013\/2014 season.
