{"id":334471,"date":"2017-07-06T15:23:56","date_gmt":"2017-07-06T15:23:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=334471"},"modified":"2017-07-06T15:23:56","modified_gmt":"2017-07-06T15:23:56","slug":"nana-addo-commissions-fpso-kufuor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=334471","title":{"rendered":"Nana Addo commissions FPSO Kufuor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The President, Nana Akufo-Addo has commissioned the Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessel (FPSO) John Agyekum Kufuor to formally kick-start the production of oil in commercial quantities from the Sankofa Gye-Nyame Fields.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-334512\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/FPSO-John-Kufuor-1.jpg\" alt=\"fpso-john-kufuor-1\" width=\"960\" height=\"641\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The symbolic ceremony was done offshore by the President turning the production valve of the FPSO and opening a Subsea Well Choke.<\/p>\n<p>A durbar of chiefs, government officials, and other dignitaries followed the commissioning at the Takoradi Shore base in the Western Region.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-334513\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/Nana-Addo-FPSO.jpg\" alt=\"nana-addo-fpso\" width=\"960\" height=\"641\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Energy in a statement copied to the media said: \u201cEni is the operator of the OCTP block with a 44.44 percent stake, while Vitol holds 35.56 percent and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) 20 per cent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-290828\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/FPSO-JA-Kufuor.jpeg\" alt=\"fpso-ja-kufuor\" width=\"527\" height=\"330\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe OCTP integrated oil and gas development is made up of the Sankofa Main, Sankofa East and Gye-Nyame fields, which are located about 60 kilometers off Ghana\u2019s Western Region coast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement said the fields had cumulatively, recoverable reserves of about 1.07 TCF of gas, 173 million barrels of oil and about 30 million barrels of condensate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-334514\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/FPSO-John-Kufuor.jpg\" alt=\"fpso-john-kufuor\" width=\"960\" height=\"641\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It said the fields would produce altogether 45,000 BOPD of oil and 170MMSCFD through 18 wells, using the floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) John Agyekum Kufuor.<\/p>\n<p>It said a 63-kilometer submarine pipeline would transport gas to Sanzule&#8217;s Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORF), where it would be received and transmitted for power generation.<\/p>\n<p>The OCTP Project had achieved significant local content development and participation with the fabrication of module stools, risers, jumpers, among others, in Ghana, it said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: GNA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President, Nana Akufo-Addo has commissioned the Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessel (FPSO) John Agyekum Kufuor to formally kick-start the production of oil in commercial quantities from the Sankofa Gye-Nyame Fields.
