Government<\/span> is appealing to Organised<\/span> Labour<\/span> to \u2018\u2019reconsider their decision\u2019\u2019 to protest and boycott work on Thursday, 24 July, 2014 and rather engage government constructively in a dialogue.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernment appeals to organized labour<\/span> to reconsider their decision and engage government<\/span> in constructive dialogue and consultations with a view to addressing the issues raised within the constraints of the national budget and the overall performance of the economy,\u2019\u2019 a statement signed by Minister for Employment and Labour<\/span> Relations, Haruna Iddrisu said.<\/p>\n

Organised<\/span> Labour<\/span>\u00a0at a press conference on Friday declared a one-day national protest, \u00a0asking all workers under the umbrella to boycott work on Thursday, 24th July, 2014.<\/p>\n

\u201d\u2026<\/span>To back these demands and as a demonstration of our serious concern over the existing state of affairs, Organised<\/span> Labour<\/span> declares a one day national protestation on Thursday July<\/span> 24, 2014,\u201d said the\u00a0General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Kofi Asamoah.<\/p>\n

Government\u2019s attention has been drawn to a declaration of a work boycott (strike action) on Thursday 24th July, 2014 at a press conference addressed by the Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) on behalf of organized labour<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Government appeals to organized labour<\/span> to reconsider their decision and engage government<\/span> in constructive dialogue and consultations with a view to addressing the issues raised within the constraints of the national budget and the overall performance of the economy.<\/p>\n
