Danquah&#8217;s murder trial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Magistrate Court hearing the trial of the two suspected murderers of the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu, today [Thursday] kicked out journalists covering the case from the courtroom.<\/p>\n<p>The Magistrate, Arit Nsemoh, after the entry of the two suspects; Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bossu, ordered the police officers stationed within the courtroom to prevent all journalists from\u00a0entering.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;W4dQGGL67UWn2Qu9Dk0UB8oSsmmbDIbh&#8221;]The police were also ordered to usher out journalists already seated in the court.<\/p>\n<p>No reason was given for\u00a0the Magistrate&#8217;s decision.<\/p>\n<p>The two suspects were arraigned a week ago after a high court discharged them due to a nolle prosequi filed by the Attorney General, and their subsequent re-arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to drop the case was initially met with some backlash from the public until the Attorney General, Gloria Akuffo,\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/05\/30\/j-b-danquahs-killers-will-be-re-arrested-gloria-akuffo\/\">clarified that<\/a><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0the suspects would be re-arrested after investigations into the case re-opened.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects have been charged with murder and the abetment of murder. The case was adjourned on June 1 because the prosecution said it was waiting for advice from the Attorney General.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu was on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, stabbed to death at his Shiashie residence in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>Two days after his murder, police arrested a first suspect, Daniel Asiedu, who allegedly confessed to committing the crime.
