{"id":326673,"date":"2017-06-09T07:11:43","date_gmt":"2017-06-09T07:11:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=326673"},"modified":"2017-06-09T07:11:43","modified_gmt":"2017-06-09T07:11:43","slug":"vigil-held-for-late-major-mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=326673","title":{"rendered":"Vigil held for late Major Mahama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hundreds of sympathizers on Thursday evening thronged the Arakan Mess at Burma Camp to partake in a vigil held in honour of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama, who was brutally murdered on Monday, May 29th.<\/p>\n<p>The two-hour program was attended by the hierarchy of the Ghana Armed Forces and several government officials.<\/p>\n<p>It was also used as an opportunity to console the family and wife of the fallen hero, Barbara Mahama.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Captain-Mahama-Vigil-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-326674\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Captain-Mahama-Vigil-1.jpg\" alt=\"captain-mahama-vigil-1\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Captain-Mahama-Vigil-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-326675\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/Captain-Mahama-Vigil-2.jpg\" alt=\"captain-mahama-vigil-2\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Friends and family, clad in black and red, converged at the mess hall amidst a morose atmosphere as mourners shed tears and voiced their sorrows.<\/p>\n<p>Major Mahama&#8217;s body will be moved from 37 Military Hospital to Forecourt of State House today\u00a0\u00a0[Friday] 9<sup>th<\/sup> June at 6:00am \u00a0for a filing past. The burial service will commence\u00a0at 9: 10 am.<\/p>\n<p>This will be followed by a procession to Osu Military Cemetery for internment.
