Financial analyst, Sydney Casely-Hayford<\/span> is advising the management of the Komfo<\/span> Anokye<\/span> Teaching Hospital (KATH), to resolve the missing baby saga \u201cfor human rights purposes and for professional, ethically correct policy.\u201d<\/p>\n

7 people have been processed for<\/span><\/span><\/span> court for their suspected involvement in the circumstances under which the body of a stillborn baby went missing a few minutes after birth at KATH.<\/p>\n

Doctors at the hospital have subsequently threatened to attend to not more than three patients per day, thus<\/span> reviewing their \u00a0procedures to conform to internationally acceptable<\/span><\/span> standards and also to avoid overworking to prevent mistakes that will incur the displeasure of the public.<\/p>\n

This decision was made after the Ministry of Health ordered colleague doctor and the midwife who were<\/span><\/span> on duty when the stillborn baby went missing to proceed on leave.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Citi FM\u2019s<\/strong> The Big Issue<\/em>, Mr. Casely-Hayford was of the opinion that KATH has made a \u201ccataclysmic mistake\u201d and the posturing of the doctors as \u201cextreme\u201d.<\/p>\n

He further counseled the management of KATH to take measures not to allow \u201can opportunity like this to bring your hospital down<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u201d considering the spiritual sensitiveness of majority<\/span><\/span><\/span> of Ghanaians.<\/p>\n

He also admonished the Ministry of Health to re-examine all operating procedures in every health facility across the country to ensure proper practices.<\/p>\n

This he said will prevent another incident of the missing baby saga still unfolding at KATH in Kumasi.<\/p>\n
