The most interesting is the ECOWAS Head of States including yourself and Ghana intervened in The Gambia&#8230;.,&#8221; Mr. Barrow added.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-314777\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Nana-Addo-and-Adama-Barrow.jpg\" alt=\"nana-addo-and-adama-barrow\" width=\"822\" height=\"548\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There had been heightened tensions in The Gambia, after long-time ruler Yahya Jammeh, rejected the results of their December 1, 2016 election, weeks after he had conceded defeat to the opposition leader, Adama Barrow.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-314773\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Adama-Barrow-and-Nana-Addo-2.jpg\" alt=\"adama-barrow-and-nana-addo-2\" width=\"1080\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yahya Jammeh <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/01\/20\/gambias-yahya-jammeh-agrees-to-step-down\/\">eventually\u00a0stepped<\/a> <\/strong><\/span>down under pressure from ECOWAS and the AU.<\/p>\n<p>President Nana Addo for his part, expressed joy over Mr. Barrow&#8217;s visit, saying \u201cIt is a joy for us to see you here with us in Ghana. I will always have you closely associated in my memory because one of the first important decisions I had to take when I became President was about The Gambia.
