Thick smoke was seen billowing from the source of the fire.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-313121\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Coconut-groove-fire-photo-1.jpeg\" alt=\"coconut-groove-fire-photo-1\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi News&#8217;<\/strong> Philip Ashong reports that two fire tenders are currently at the scene with\u00a0personnel of the Fire Service battling the inferno.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-313120\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Coconut-groove-fire-3-1.jpeg\" alt=\"coconut-groove-fire-3\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some police personnel are also at the scene to maintain order.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-313109\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Coconut-groove-fire-3.jpeg\" alt=\"coconut-groove-fire-3\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Both GN bank and Coconut Groove Regency hotel are owned by the former presidential candidate of the Progressive People&#8217;s Party, Dr. Papa Kwasi Nduom.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-313123\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Coconut-groove-fire-photo-3.jpeg\" alt=\"coconut-groove-fire-photo-3\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The hotel is located behind the Ghana Immigration Service Headquarters in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>Although the actual cause of the fire is yet to be known, Citi News&#8217; Duke Mensah Opoku said some staff of Amansan TV (ATV) which is also at the premises of the Hotel said they suspected an electrical fault.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-313119\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Coconut-groove-fire-2.jpeg\" alt=\"coconut-groove-fire-2\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They lamented that they had lost their belongings including laptops and mobile phones to the fire as they were forced to rush for their lives after the sound of a fire alarm at the hotel.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Jonas Nyabor\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fire has destroyed part of the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra.
