{"id":3081,"date":"2014-03-01T12:01:23","date_gmt":"2014-03-01T12:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=3081"},"modified":"2014-03-01T12:01:23","modified_gmt":"2014-03-01T12:01:23","slug":"big-haul-of-cannabis-three-held","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=3081","title":{"rendered":"Big haul of cannabis, three held"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/image.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-3082\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/image-300x214.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/image-300x214.jpg 300w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/image.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Three persons, including a minor, have been arrested in connection with the seizure of a large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, in transit to Niger.<\/p>\n<p>Iddrisu Katumi, 42, a driver, Majeed Issaka, 23, together with the juvenile, said to be a driver\u2019s-mate, had compressed the substance into 125 parcels and hidden them in a compartment of a DAF bus.<\/p>\n<p>They were put before a Kumasi Circuit Court presided over by Mr William Boampong on Friday and were denied bail.<\/p>\n<p>The two accused adults were remanded in prison custody while the minor was asked to be held in a police juvenile cell.<\/p>\n<p>They are facing charges of possessing narcotic drugs without lawful custody and possessing narcotic drug without lawful authority.<\/p>\n<p>Their pleas were not taken and they would make their next court appearance on Thursday, March 13.<\/p>\n<p>Two other accomplices are on the run and the Police Inspector Gulliver Kwabena Tenkorang told the court that the police were doing everything to arrest and bring them to justice.<\/p>\n<p>He said the substance was intercepted at about midnight on February 24, at a snap checkpoint the police mounted at Suame in Kumasi based on a tip off.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecution said the police was working hard to trace the source of supply.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: GNA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three persons, including a minor, have been arrested in connection with the seizure of a large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, in transit to Niger.
