The Ghana Football Association have charged Accra Hearts of Oak with misconduct and violence by their officials, players and supporters.<\/p>\n
The charges are as a result of the aftermath of a premier league match against New Edubiase last season in the capital.<\/p>\n
A late Edubiase equaliser from a controversially awarded penalty ended Hearts’ chances of qualifying for the African Champions League next season and sparked some ugly scenes after the game.<\/p>\n
The club have had four counts of misconduct filed against them for the incidents.<\/p>\n
The administrator of the club, Hackman Aidoo, has also been charged with two counts of misconduct and violence for “verbally abusing and physically assaulting the match officials after the game with Edubiase.”<\/p>\n
Two charges have also been filed against Mohammed Alhassan, a porter of Hearts of Oak, “for misconduct and violence for verbally abusing and physically assaulting the match officials in the course of the game against Edubiase.”<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Berekum Chelsea have also been charged with “misconduct and violence by their supporters in a Premier League match with Amidaus Professionals.”<\/p>\n
In a statement on their official website, the GFA said: “Chelsea face three counts for the actions of their supporters during and after their fixture against Amidaus on 1 June 2014 in Berekum.”<\/p>\n
The Ghana Football Association has given Hearts of Oak, Berekum Chelsea, Hackman Aidoo and Mohammed Alhassan “until 5pm on 11 July 2014 to respond to the charges.”<\/p>\n
