{"id":302952,"date":"2017-03-19T14:00:17","date_gmt":"2017-03-19T14:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=302952"},"modified":"2017-03-19T14:00:17","modified_gmt":"2017-03-19T14:00:17","slug":"npp-to-commemorate-a-year-of-jake-obetsebi-lampteys-passing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=302952","title":{"rendered":"NPP to commemorate a year of Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey&#8217;s passing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP), will on Monday, March 20, 2017, hold a ceremony to observe the one year passing of its former National Chairman, Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey.<\/p>\n<p>Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in London after battling an ailment.<\/p>\n<p>A church service at the Ridge Church will take place at 8:00am, whiles a get-together at the party&#8217;s National Headquarters will be held to celebrate the life of Obetsebi-Lamptey, described as &#8220;one of the greatest sons of the elephant.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJake\u2019s contribution to the NPP can never be forgotten even in death, hence the celebration,\u201d the NPP&#8217;s acting General Secretary, John Boadu, noted.<\/p>\n<p>John Boadu called on members, sympathisers and the general public to come and celebrate \u201cJake the great\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-302955 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Jake-Obetsebi-Lamptey-1.jpg\" alt=\"jake-obetsebi-lamptey-1\" width=\"728\" height=\"524\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From 2005 to July 2007, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey served as the Minister of Tourism and Diasporan Relations in the cabinet of President John Kufuor.<\/p>\n<p>He was the National Campaign Manager of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2000 Presidential elections, which saw the first constitutional transition of power under the Fourth Republic.<\/p>\n<p>Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey also served as a Chief of Staff in the government of former President John Kufuor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Delali Adogla-Bessa\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP), will on Monday, March 20, 2017, hold a ceremony to observe the one year passing of its former National Chairman, Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey.
