{"id":299111,"date":"2017-03-05T14:36:13","date_gmt":"2017-03-05T14:36:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=299111"},"modified":"2017-03-05T14:36:13","modified_gmt":"2017-03-05T14:36:13","slug":"2017-skating-festival-to-kick-start-on-independence-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=299111","title":{"rendered":"2017 skating festival to kick start on Independence Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2017 edition of Ghana&#8217;s biggest skating festival, Skatefest, is set to commence on Independence day.<\/p>\n<p>The sports, which has for several years been classified as a \u201clesser known sports\u201d in Ghana, will attract hundreds of participants across the country to compete in the Western Regional capital, Takoradi.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s event, which is being organized by Power Haus Promotions, offers a platform for healthy competition for various skating groups in the country, especially in the Western and Central Regions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/05\/2017-skating-festival-to-kick-start-on-independence-day\/skating-festival-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-299118\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-299118\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Skating-festival-2.jpg\" alt=\"skating-festival-2\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It will also serve as an avenue to showcase skating talents to the world. The event enters its second year after successfully debuting in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Events and Promotions at Power Haus Promotions, Agyekum Gyimah told <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, \u201cthe team here at Power Haus Promotions are excited about this year\u2019s edition as we expect this year\u2019s event to deliver more quality entertainment and a lucrative business platform for our corporate partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2017\/03\/05\/2017-skating-festival-to-kick-start-on-independence-day\/skating-festival-3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-299117\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-299117\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/Skating-festival-3.jpg\" alt=\"skating-festival-3\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s event had the Deputy Western Regional Minister, Hon.
