{"id":295629,"date":"2017-02-19T10:48:31","date_gmt":"2017-02-19T10:48:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=295629"},"modified":"2017-02-19T10:48:31","modified_gmt":"2017-02-19T10:48:31","slug":"north-korea-murdered-kim-jong-nam-says-south-korea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=295629","title":{"rendered":"North Korea murdered Kim Jong-nam, says South Korea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"story-body__introduction\">South Korea has said it believes the North Korean regime is involved in the murder of Kim Jong-nam.<\/p>\n<p>North Korean leader Kim Jong-un&#8217;s half-brother was killed at Malaysia&#8217;s Kuala Lumpur airport last week.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe the North Korean regime is behind this incident considering five suspects are North Koreans,&#8221; said Seoul&#8217;s unification ministry spokesman.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysian police have already detained one North Korean and they say they are looking for four more.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy national police chief Noor Rashid Ismail identified the latest North Korean suspects in a press conference on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>He said the men left Malaysia last Monday, the day Mr Kim was killed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The four suspects are holding normal passports, not diplomatic passports,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Police believe poison was sprayed into Mr Kim&#8217;s face he waited to board a flight to Macau.<\/p>\n<p>Four other people have already been detained in connection with his death.<\/p>\n<p>The four are: the North Korean, an Indonesian woman, a Malaysian man, and a woman with a Vietnamese passport.<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian national, named as Siti Aisyah, is said to have told Malaysian police she had been paid to perform what she thought was a prank.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"media-landscape has-caption full-width\"><span class=\"image-and-copyright-container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"responsive-image__img js-image-replace\" src=\"http:\/\/ichef-1.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/cpsprodpb\/EE07\/production\/_94653906_0addbb4f-6bff-42a3-91fa-70f6dec154bc.jpg\" alt=\"Grainy image shows a woman with brown hair wearing a T-shirt with the letters \" width=\"549\" height=\"549\" data-highest-encountered-width=\"624\" \/><span class=\"off-screen\">Image copyright<\/span><span class=\"story-image-copyright\">REX\/SHUTTERSTOCK<\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"media-caption\"><span class=\"media-caption__text\">This CCTV image has been broadcast by South Korean and Malaysian media<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kim is believed to have been attacked in the airport departure hall on Monday by two women, using some form of chemical.<\/p>\n<p>A grainy image taken from security camera footage, which has been broadcast in South Korea and Malaysia, shows a woman wearing a white T-shirt with the letters &#8220;LOL&#8221; written on the front.<\/p>\n<p>Despite widespread speculation that North Korea was behind the killing, there has been no proof. Pyongyang has made no public comments on the issue.<\/p>\n<p>Kim was largely estranged from his family, after being passed over for the North Korean leadership in favour of his youngest half-brother.
