General Secretary fired for accusing leadership of embezzlement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Deputy General Secretary of the People\u2019s National Convention (PNC), Mohammed Haruna, has been dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>A letter signed by the Flagbearer of the PNC, Edward Nasigiri, said Mohammed Haruna falsely accused the National Treasurer, Mr. Akane Adams, of allegedly stealing &#8220;party money without recourse to the leadership of the party.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Nasigiri said the act by Mr. Haruna \u201cembarrassed\u201d him as a leader of the National Executive Committee (NEC), and members of the PNC.<\/p>\n<p>The embattled PNC official was also accused of alleging that Dr. Mahama had used the party&#8217;s money to buy Treasury Bills.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-287811\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/596179b9-5a50-401d-b910-b6f4b5b659cf.jpg\" alt=\"596179b9-5a50-401d-b910-b6f4b5b659cf\" width=\"864\" height=\"1152\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Citing the Standing Orders of the party, the PNC 2016 Presidential Candidate said, no &#8220;individual executive can transfer party cash without a counter signature of either the Leader, Chairman, General Secretary or National Treasurer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Nasigiri further asked the general public to treat such reports with the contempt that it deserves, saying &#8220;I emphatically wish to state that, Dr. Edward Nasigiri Mahama has no Treasury bill in my name anywhere in the world.
