{"id":281654,"date":"2017-01-04T14:33:18","date_gmt":"2017-01-04T14:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=281654"},"modified":"2017-01-04T14:33:18","modified_gmt":"2017-01-04T14:33:18","slug":"official-nana-addo-names-frema-osei-opare-as-chief-of-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=281654","title":{"rendered":"Official: Nana Addo names Frema Osei-Opare as Chief of Staff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Frema Osei-Opare will be the Chief of Staff of President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo\u2019s New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Akufo-Addo made this announcement during an address at his residence today [Wednesday] where he also announced\u00a0Francis Asenso-Boakye\u00a0and\u00a0Samuel Abu Jinapor\u00a0will be the two deputies to the Chief of Staff.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Osei-Opare becomes the first female Chief of Staff.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/4c75aed9-53cb-4ad0-a944-1f26ee94a30e.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-281711\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/4c75aed9-53cb-4ad0-a944-1f26ee94a30e.jpg\" alt=\"4c75aed9-53cb-4ad0-a944-1f26ee94a30e\" width=\"600\" height=\"391\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Chief of Staff\u00a0is primarily known as the coordinator of the supporting staff at the Presidency and the primary aide-de-camp of the President.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Osei-Opare, a former Ayawaso West\u00a0Wuogon\u00a0Member of Parliament, is currently serving as a representative of the President-elect&#8217;s side\u00a0on\u00a0the transition team as the head of the Staff of the office of the President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Osei-Opare is a former lecturer and Head of the Department of Home Science at the University of Ghana and she has also served as the Country Director of Action Aid Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the announcement, speculation\u00a0was\u00a0already\u00a0rife that the President-elect\u2019s\u00a0choice would be Mrs. Osei-Opare whilst Abu\u00a0Jinapor and Francis Asenso-Boakye\u00a0had been projected to be her deputies.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_281729\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-281729\" style=\"width: 603px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Abu-Jinapor.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-281729\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Abu-Jinapor.jpg\" alt=\"abu-jinapor\" width=\"603\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-281729\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Abu Jinapor<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Some NPP youth activists had kicked against the prospective appointment of Mr.\u00a0Jinapor\u00a0saying he was not deserving of the job because they claim he did not show enough commitment to the party after their defeat\u00a0in the 2012 elections.<\/p>\n<p>But some prominent personalities in the NPP\u00a0including Nana Akomea and Gabby Asare Otchere Darko said the prospective choice of Mr.\u00a0Jinapor\u00a0as a deputy Chief of Staff was laudable.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Jinapor was called to the Bar in 2012 and is solicitor of the Supreme Court.\u00a0As a newly enrolled lawyer, he had his pupillage with a reputable commercial and corporate law firm, Messrs. Kulendi at Law from October 2012 to August 2013.<\/p>\n<p>He became a Campaign Aide to Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2007 NPP Presidential Primaries and held this position for both the 2008 and 2012 General Elections.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_281693\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-281693\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/341f4a25-a436-4595-b890-a7eafd516a26-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-281693 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/341f4a25-a436-4595-b890-a7eafd516a26-1.jpg\" alt=\"341f4a25-a436-4595-b890-a7eafd516a26-1\" width=\"600\" height=\"407\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-281693\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Francis Asenso-Boakye<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Francis Asenso-Boakye activity in the NPP goes back to his\u00a0tertiary education days where he was among the founders of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
