I remain committed to the unity and stability of our great nation,\u201d President Mahama said during his\u00a0concession speech in Accra on Friday.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-275864 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/mahama-concession-speech-2.jpg\" alt=\"mahama-concession-speech-2\" width=\"677\" height=\"452\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018History will judge my contributions\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Mahama said although he would have wished to have another term, he was still grateful for the previous opportunities given him.<\/p>\n<p>He further noted that <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/12\/09\/history-will-judge-my-contributions-mahama\/\"><strong>history will judge<\/strong><\/a><\/span> his contributions as president of the land.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been without a doubt, one of the most tremendous privileges of my life to serve this great nation as President and to work on behalf of all Ghanaians. I will leave it to history to be the judge of my time and contributions while in that highest office,\u201d president Mahama said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Akufo-Addo declared winner<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Electoral Commission (EC) on Friday declared the NPP presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, the winner of the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-275862 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/mahama-concession-speech-3.jpg\" alt=\"mahama-concession-speech-3\" width=\"676\" height=\"451\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The NPP flagbearer secured the presidency after a third time, beating the incumbent, President John Mahama with 53.85 percent of valid votes cast.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama also had\u00a044.40% of the votes.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Akufo-Addo who becomes Ghana\u2019s fifth president under the fourth Republic will officially assume office on January 7, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Godwin A.
