Paul Pogba needs to rein in the showboating to be a real success at Manchester United, his national team boss says.<\/p>\n

United paid a world-record fee to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford in the summer, but by Jose Mourinho’s admission the \u00a389m midfielder needs time to readjust to Premier League football after four years at Juventus.<\/p>\n

And France manager Didier Deschamps believes Pogba is trying too hard to impress critics he will never win over anyway.<\/p>\n

“Even when he does things well\u00a0it’s not good enough,” Deschamps told French station RMC<\/em>. “So we can understand that it may encourage him to do things that are out of the ordinary but not necessarily helpful.<\/p>\n

“He can do things that others do not, but it must also be the reality of what is good for the team. We’re talking about a young player. He is at a club where he is also used in different positions.”<\/p>\n

Pogba’s social media presence and the size of his transfer also mark him out as a target for the critics, according to Deschamps, who says the player’s position means he will struggle to be a Ballon d’Or contender in years to come.<\/p>\n

“He’s a midfielder. The Ballons d’Or\u00a0are attackers or No 10s, with rare exceptions. These are players who score goals. Paul? He scores, but he will not score three goals every game.”<\/p>\n
