{"id":274549,"date":"2016-12-05T13:58:54","date_gmt":"2016-12-05T13:58:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=274549"},"modified":"2016-12-05T13:58:54","modified_gmt":"2016-12-05T13:58:54","slug":"npp-releases-list-of-woyomes-cash-beneficiaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=274549","title":{"rendered":"NPP releases list of Woyome\u2019s cash beneficiaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed what it claims are details of businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome&#8217;s cheque book and list of beneficiaries of the GH\u00a251.2 million wrongfully paid him as judgement debt.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of Communications of the NPP, Nana Akomea, at a press conference in Accra on Monday said Mr Woyome financed many projects of the NDC and paid some sums to some individuals within the party.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;VQ0P9LM70KUY4VDrlP1UF1KwgllfAhpe&#8221;]He mentioned the party\u2019s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho as beneficiaries of the booty.<\/p>\n<p>A former Attorney General Martin Amidu had earlier threatened to expose the names of some beneficiaries if given the opportunity to orally examine the businessman.<\/p>\n<p>But Nana Akomea said, \u201cGH\u00a260,000 payment was made to Mr Jewel Ackah on 16<sup>th<\/sup> of June 2011. They include a GH\u00a220,000 payment to General Mosquito on 2<sup>nd<\/sup> September 2011 and GH\u00a28,000 payment to one Suhuni of Radio Gold.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also mentioned the editor of the Insight Newspaper, Mr Kwesi Pratt Jnr as also receiving GH\u00a22,000 from the money.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr Akomea, Woyome, from the amount, funding the refurbishment of the NDC office and procurement of motorbikes for a constituency branch of the NDC in the Volta Region.<\/p>\n<p>Other beneficiaries according to the NPP are;<\/p>\n<p>The key beneficiaries, according to him include;<\/p>\n<p>(a)A GHC1 million payment was made to the NDC party on 15 February 2011<\/p>\n<p>(b)GHC75,000 was given to Professor Awunor on 28 June 2011<\/p>\n<p>(c)GHC60,000 was given to Jewel Ackah on 16 June 2011<\/p>\n<p>(d)GHC20,000 was given to NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia popularly known as General Mosquito on 2 September 2011<\/p>\n<p>(e)GHC60,000 was given to former head of Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), Steve Kpordzih in 2011<\/p>\n<p>(f)GHC8,000 was given to one Suhyini of Radio Gold in 2011<\/p>\n<p>(g)GHC2,000 was given to Managing Editor of Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt in 2011<\/p>\n<p>(h)GHC15,000 was given to the NDC branch in Hohoe in 2011<\/p>\n<p>(i)GHC42,000 was given to the NDC for the purchase of 30 motorbikes<\/p>\n<p>(j)GHC100,000 was given to NDC Koku Anyidoho who is now a Deputy General Secretary,<\/p>\n<p>(k)GHC30,000 was given to the NDC for the renovation of its party office on 29 March 2011<\/p>\n<p>(l)GHC13,000 was again given to NDC Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho on 1 May 2011<\/p>\n<p>(m)GHC30,000 was given to NDC Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Ade Coker on 8 February 2011<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8216;Publish names of beneficiaries of 51.2m cash&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Embattled businessman, Alfred Woyome earlier last month dared his accusers to publish the list of persons who have allegedly benefited from the GHs51.2 million wrongfully paid him by the state.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a press conference in Accra, Mr Woyome questioned a supposed list that was making rounds on social media as being those of persons who benefited from the money, saying, &#8220;I will continue to fight till the last drop of my blood.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court granted former Attorney General Martin Amidu&#8217;s request to orally examine the businessman in what many believed will eventually lead to the exposure of those who benefited from money.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Jonas Nyabor\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<br \/>\n<a class=\"twitter-follow-button\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jnyabor\" data-show-count=\"false\">Follow @jnyabor<\/a><\/p>\n<p><script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=\/^http:\/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+':\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js';fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document, 'script', 'twitter-wjs');<\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed what it claims are details of businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome&#8217;s cheque book and list of beneficiaries of the GH\u00a251.2 million wrongfully paid him as judgement debt.
