{"id":27390,"date":"2014-06-25T15:25:28","date_gmt":"2014-06-25T15:25:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=27390"},"modified":"2014-06-25T15:46:04","modified_gmt":"2014-06-25T15:46:04","slug":"richard-nyamah-likely-to-abandon-lawsuit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=27390","title":{"rendered":"Richard Nyamah likely to abandon lawsuit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth activist, Richard Nyamah\u00a0says he is considering abandoning a lawsuit against the Finance Ministry for its indebtedness to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Nyamah earlier filed a lawsuit to protest the Finance Ministry\u2019s failure to pay moneys into the GETFund as required by law since 2013.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the Ministry owes the GETFund approximately GHC 687 million.<\/p>\n<p>The court however adjourned Mr. Nyamah\u2019s law suit to July 10, 2014 since the ruling on the case was not ready for proceedings to take off.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <b>Citi News<\/b>, Mr. Nyamah said the decision to adjourn the case continually is frustrating him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am getting frustrated and I am considering abandoning the case because of the way it is going. It is taking too much of my time and I don\u2019t get paid for it,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am a worker and I leave my work to go and sit at the court room three four hours virtually on a week basis and then it gets to a point where you think that everything will work, you don\u2019t get the ruling,\u201d Mr. Nyamah lamented.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, \u201cthere is the need for urgency to be attached to the issue since the lives of people are at stake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is in the interest of the Ghanaian public and for their prosperity that I am doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth activist, Richard Nyamah\u00a0says he is considering abandoning a lawsuit against the Finance Ministry for its indebtedness to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).
