The People’s National Congress (PNC) has confirmed the receipt of the triplicate copies of the party’s Flagbearer’s nomination forms it asked the Electoral Commission (EC) to provide so it could adequately correct all errors on the forms.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was confirmed by the party’s General Secretary, Atik Mohammed.<\/span><\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”7kDczNLdIRE7HCmcOd1jNs6LbtoYSEdY”]The PNC had\u00a0<\/span><\/span>threatened to head to the Supreme Court<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to further extend the nomination period if it did not receive all the copies by 8:00 am today [Tuesday].<\/span><\/p>\n

The PNC explained that its demand was to ensure that all minor errors across the four sets of nomination forms and not just one are carefully and thoroughly addressed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The EC gave the PNC\u00a0a single copy of the nomination forms despite the fact the party submitted the forms in quadruplicate.<\/span><\/p>\n

The party explained that it would be unable to effectively correct the errors without the originals or copies of all the nomination forms submitted in triplicate.<\/span><\/p>\n

The PNC Flagbearer, Dr. Edward Mahama, and 12 other presidential aspirants were handed a lifeline by the Supreme Court’s order of extension after\u00a0<\/span><\/span>they were initially disqualified<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>from the presidential race after varying errors were detected on their filed nomination forms.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr.\u00a0Mahama in particular was disqualified on the grounds that some of the subscribers who endorsed his nomination forms from the regions, forged signatures while others endorsed more than one candidate.<\/span><\/p>\n
