The two nurses indicted\u00a0by the Ministry of Health\u00a0in the\u00a0Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital\u00a0missing baby saga have finally begun serving their suspension.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday\u00a0Citi FM checks at the hospital revealed that\u00a0nurses were still at post even after the health ministry\u2019s directive for\u00a0them to be suspended.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0\u00a0management of the hospital said it had officially not been notified.<\/p>\n
Public relations officer of the hospital Mr Kwame Frimpong in an interview with Citi News confirmed that the hospital was officially notified yesterday, June 19th <\/sup>2014 and immediately effected a directive as being directed by the ministry of health.<\/p>\n Mr Frimpong says that the nurses begun their suspension the day the hospital was officially notified.<\/p>\n \u201cWe received all the letters yesterday and management has taken all the administrative steps to activate the directives that were given to us by the ministry with regards to this case. So as we speak now, we have finished with all actions and with regards to the suspension of the midwives, who were shift leaders on that day,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n The Public Relation officer of the hospital, Kwame Frimpong confirmed to this to Citi News\u2019 Ashanti regional correspondent, Hawa Iddrisu.<\/p>\n He further explained the reason why they are responsible for the missing bodies of the stillborn babies.<\/p>\n \u201cThey did not directly attend to the patient. They were shift leaders and according to the Nursing and Midwifery Council, when they were changing over from one shift to the other, the two supervisors should have done the physical handing over of the bodies of the still born babies that were registered that night.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ewurabena Hagan\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana
