The Black Stars will have to negotiate a tough group D which has been tagged by book makers as the toughest going into the AFCON 2017.<\/p>\n

Record holders Egypt alongside Uganda and Mali make up three teams Ghana will have to go through if they want to win the AFCON.<\/p>\n

The Cranes of Uganda<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Uganda national football team, nicknamed \u2018The Cranes\u2019, is the national team of\u00a0Uganda\u00a0and is controlled by the\u00a0Federation of Uganda Football Association.<\/p>\n

Their best finish in the\u00a0Africa Cup of Nations\u00a0was second in\u00a01978<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Serbian\u00a0Milutin Sredojevi\u0107\u00a0is their manager and he is yet to taste defeat to Ghana in his time in charge of the team.<\/p>\n

Best player: Tony Mawejje<\/strong><\/p>\n

The attacking midfielder was born on 15th\u00a0December, 1987 and now plays in Iceland with\u00a0<\/strong>Knattspyrnuf\u00e9lagi\u00f0 \u00der\u00f3ttur.<\/p>\n

Mawejje has been instrumental for the Cranes and masterminded their return to the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in two decades.<\/p>\n

Mawejje will be supported by the likes of Joseph Ochaya and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Dennis Onyango.<\/p>\n

The Eagles of Mali:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Mali national football team, nicknamed\u00a0Les Aigles (The Eagles)<\/em>, is the national team of\u00a0Mali\u00a0and is controlled by the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Malienne de Football. They are currently coached by Alain Giresse .<\/p>\n

Their best finish at the Africa cup of Nations has come in recent times where they \u00a0came 3rd\u00a0in 2012 edition and repeated the dose in the 2013 edition.<\/p>\n

Best Player: Adama Traore\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The attacking midfielder was born on the 28th\u00a0June 1995 and \u00a0plays for French giants Monaco in the French Ligue 1.<\/p>\n

Traore has been consistent for his country in the last twelve months and is highly rated by the people of Mali. He will be key if they are to progress to the next round.<\/p>\n

The Pharoahs of Egypt<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Pharaohs\u201d represent Egypt\u00a0in international\u00a0association football\u00a0and is governed by the\u00a0Egyptian Football Association\u00a0(EFA).<\/p>\n

The team plays its home games at\u00a0Borg El Arab Stadium\u00a0in\u00a0Alexandria, and their current head coach is\u00a0H\u00e9ctor C\u00faper.<\/p>\n

Egypt is the most successful national team in Africa, having won the\u00a0Africa Cup of Nations\u00a0on a record seven occasions.<\/p>\n

Best Player: Mohammed Salah<\/strong><\/p>\n

The winger cum forward was born on June 15th\u00a01992 and plays for Italian side AS Roma. Despite his young age, he has been special for Egypt especially in their recent renaissance.<\/p>\n

He scored four games to aid their qualification and will be key for them again in the competition.<\/p>\n
