Managers of the Rattray Park; one of Ghana\u2019s modern amusement park located in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi, have denied media reports that the facility has been closed down for non-payment of taxes.<\/p>\n

Media reports on Friday, September 23, suggested that\u00a0the Park had been closed for non-payment of tax.<\/p>\n

The reports noted that\u00a0officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), were seen at the facility at 11:00am on Friday, driving out workers and patrons before the normal closing time, as the gates were also closed.<\/p>\n

But according to a notice issued via the Park\u2019s official Facebook page, the reports are \u201cgrossly exaggerated\u201d.<\/p>\n

The notice said the Park, which is owned and operated by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), is open to the general public and its issues with the GRA are\u00a0being addressed.\"rattray-park\"<\/p>\n

\u2018Rattray Park opened to the public\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

In June last year, the Rattray Park was established by the KMA<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, and was jointly commissioned by President John Mahama<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

The recreational facility is aimed at\u00a0giving residents a one-stop recreation facility, and also promote a healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n

The Park covers 42,000 square meters, and has an acoustic dancing fountain; the first of its kind in Ghana.<\/p>\n

It can also boast of a six square-meter multimedia controlled fountain, children\u2019s playground, a golf cart, wi-fi internet connectivity, an open robust gym and a cafeteria among others.<\/p>\n
