commenced paying interests<\/a><\/strong><\/span> for the first quarter on the mobile money wallets of their customers.<\/p>\nIt follows the green light from the Bank of Ghana.<\/p>\n
A total of about 12 million is to be distributed among the various subscribers for the first and second quarters.<\/p>\n
Though some subscribers indicated they are yet to receive their messages confirming the payment of interests, they expressed joy at the announcement.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is good news and I am very happy because people can send money into my wallet and I will be enjoying interests every quarter when I withdraw for them,\u201d one customer stated.<\/p>\n
Another also stated, \u201cI am happy but I am yet to receive my message from my network provider\u2026I am not expecting anything huge though.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile a mobile money agent in the capital who claims he doubted the authenticity of the development, however intimated he is yet to receive payments.<\/p>\n
\u201cI received a message indicating that interests will be paid on September 18, but as for today, September 11, I haven\u2019t received any information yet on the interest so I am waiting\u2026. Honestly, I didn\u2019t believe it initially but I understand it is coming from the Bank of Ghana so we hope they keep their promise,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
