{"id":246782,"date":"2016-09-08T13:33:21","date_gmt":"2016-09-08T13:33:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=246782"},"modified":"2016-09-08T13:33:21","modified_gmt":"2016-09-08T13:33:21","slug":"we-havent-been-served-with-ecg-privatization-suit-mida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=246782","title":{"rendered":"We haven\u2019t been served with ECG \u2018privatization\u2019 suit &#8211; MiDA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) has told <strong>Citi Business News<\/strong> it has not been served with any suit on the concession of the ECG.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;XtmSxu4ci83ILWm5xVeoLsbfYJaoShjV&#8221;]MiDA on Wednesday [September 7, 2016] released a statement announcing that Compact two has entered into force despite a law suit against it.<\/p>\n<p>A member of the opposition NPP\u2019s communications team, Saaka Salia sued MiDA arguing that it is not fit to participate as an adviser, in the concession arrangement for the ECG.<\/p>\n<p>Joined to the suit are the PURC, the Attorney General\u2019s office, and Energy Commission.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Salia further argued MiDA breached Ghana&#8217;s laws after it authored and circulated a draft tariff methodology.<\/p>\n<p>But speaking to <strong>Citi Business News<\/strong>, the Director of Communication and Outreach at MIDA, Pamela Djamson-Tettey disclosed that the authority has not been served any writ.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, the authority has heard rumours but not received any document to that effect.<\/p>\n<p>Under the compact II, Ghana is expected to get over US dollars 498 million dollars to execute six projects.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Lawrence Segbefia\/citibusinessnews.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) has told Citi Business News it has not been served with any suit on the concession of the ECG.
