The National Democratic Congress (NDC) believes it is the only political party living up to the legacy of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.<\/p>\n
According to the NDC flagbearer, President John Mahama, his party is undertaking developmental projects with foresight comparable to the visionary Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.<\/p>\n

All the work he was doing; Akosombo, the Motorway, the Tema Oil Refinery \u2013 up till today the Tema Oil Refinery that Nkrumah built for us, it is the refinery that is working and producing petroleum products,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
President Mahama made these remarks addressing supporters in the Gushegu constituency on his\u00a0final day of campaigning in the Northern Region.<\/p>\n
He\u00a0argued that the government, under his administration, has been able to embark on massive infrastructural developments across the length and breadth of the country like Nkrumah.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs I speak, we are walking in Nkrumah\u2019s footsteps,\u201d President Mahama said as he held that the debt Ghana was incurring for developmental projects would eventually be to the benefit of posterity.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we are building the eastern corridor as a major high way for the eastern corridor of our country and we go and borrow money and we are doing it, are we wasting the money\u2026 If we go and take money to take the Tamale referral hospital for the whole of the Northern region, are we wasting money?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd yet the same thing they said to Nkrumah, that he was running Ghana into debt, people are saying the same thing today,\u201d President Mahama added.<\/p>\n
