The Police has transported\u00a0Bishop Daniel Obinim to an undisclosed location following his arrest for allegedly\u00a0defrauding someone of an amount of \u00a0GHc 11.6 million.<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Citi News<\/strong> Franklin Badu Jnr reported that that the popular preacher was conveyed from the Police Headquarters to this new place today [Wednesday].<\/p>\n

Followers\u00a0of the controversial preacher besieged the Police Headquarters to protest the preacher’s arrest but the Police dispersed them with water cannons and pepper spray.<\/p>\n

Bishop Obinim\u2019s followers earlier massed up\u00a0at the Nima police station demanding immediate release of their Pastor following his arrest on Tuesday<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, before he was later transferred to the Police Headquarters.<\/p>\n

Yesterday [Tuesday], a\u00a0video emerged showing the preacher being led into a vehicle from a Police station in handcuffs, escorted by some police officers.<\/p>\n

Citi News<\/strong>\u2019 Phillip Nii Lartey was at the Nima where he reported that some of the supporters were yelling: \u201cNo Bishop no vote\u201d, \u201cNo bishop no Ghana\u201d and \u201cWe want bishop, we love Angel!\u201d among other cries.<\/p>\n

Bishop Obinim garnered widespread criticism this past week for his\u00a0public flogging of two teenagers in his church for which he has been sued<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and is\u00a0under investigation<\/a><\/strong><\/span> but it is this claim of fraud that has seen him locked up.<\/p>\n

According to the CID, the complainant came to the Tema Police accusing\u00a0Bishop Obinim of failing to deliver on a promise of helping him retrieve family gold proceeds from a fetish priest which culminated in him being defrauded of the GHc 11.6 million by the preacher.<\/p>\n
