At least 17 people have been reportedly killed in flood-related incidents in Madhya Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/90873037_c8d2eed6-830a-40e3-b73d-a4d8899110c3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-241775\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/90873037_c8d2eed6-830a-40e3-b73d-a4d8899110c3.jpg\" alt=\"_90873037_c8d2eed6-830a-40e3-b73d-a4d8899110c3\" width=\"624\" height=\"575\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And in the eastern state of Bihar, at least 15,000 people have been evacuated from their homes after a &#8220;flood-like situation&#8221; in a dozen districts. Floods are common in India during the monsoon season between June and September.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Chauhan, like other chief ministers, visited the flood-affected areas over the weekend to review rescue efforts, but ended up becoming the recipient of bad publicity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/90872992_7cc092ea-49e5-43ee-9269-38191969a828.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-241777\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/90872992_7cc092ea-49e5-43ee-9269-38191969a828.jpg\" alt=\"_90872992_7cc092ea-49e5-43ee-9269-38191969a828\" width=\"624\" height=\"511\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>His office told the Hindustan Times that police officials decided to carry him because &#8220;he had trouble walking after his foot hit a hard object in the mud&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>But the statement did not stop Twitter users from reacting with amusement.
